Tucked away in the Rideau Lakes, this small secluded island near our cottage on Sand Lake has always been a favourite swimming spot—something the title gently hints at. The painting celebrates not just the joy of summer dips, but the quiet resilience of nature itself.

I’ve always been fascinated by how pine trees take root and thrive on these exposed rock outcrops. Against all odds, they bend, twist, and rise—bold and beautiful. In Skinny Dippers Island, I wanted to capture that tenacity, along with the movement of water, the pull of sunlight, and the memories that make a place feel like home.
