I’ve always loved winter. The stillness, the crisp air, and the way the light transforms the landscape.

Winter Ripples came from a moment along a ridge during a snowshoe hike. The late winter light was warm against the sky, casting long blue shadows across the snow, while the branches carried the weight of a recent snowfall.

What caught me was the movement in something that, at first, felt so still. The snow rolled across the ridge in soft waves, almost like ripples on water, with the trees rising through it.

It’s one of the things I love most about being outside in winter. The contrast of warmth and cold, light and shadow, and those quiet moments you only really notice when you’re out there in it.
