Another new piece from Newboro Lake, painted as summer begins to give way to fall.

I've always loved this time of year on the Rideau. The lake hasn't really changed yet, but the light has. The sky feels different, the greens aren't quite as bright and you start seeing the first warmer colours appearing along the shoreline.

Being out painting plein air gives me a chance to really notice those changes. They're easy to miss when you're moving quickly through the lake by boat.

That's what I wanted to capture here — not quite summer and not quite fall, but that short period in between.
