This is the third piece in my Walk Along the Canal series, a tribute to another corner of the Glebe that feels like home.
Brown’s Inlet is one of the quiet reasons we fell in love with this neighbourhood. My studio is only steps away, and it’s become part of my daily ritual. You can often find me here painting, sketching, or just taking in the colours and reflections. It’s an oasis in the middle of the city, and a constant source of inspiration.
Two still ponds, old trees leaning toward the water, and light that shifts in ways you only notice when you slow down. Kids fish here in the summer, dogs play and splash along the shoreline, and wildlife drifts through as if the inlet belongs to them. It’s quiet, grounding, and unmistakably the Glebe.
This painting honours that everyday magic, the place I return to again and again because it never looks the same twice.
This piece is looking for its next home.
If it speaks to you, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
